L3 Airline Academy is committed to first class flight training. In order to continue providing top-quality equipment, we have purchased the technically advanced Cirrus SR-20 aircraft as our primary trainer.

Cirrus SR20

The Cirrus SR20 is a state-of-the-art, technically advanced aircraft primarily constructed of composite materials for aerodynamic efficiency that seats four people.

L3 Airline Academy currently has 32 Cirrus SR20s in operation.

The SR20 is FAA certified for day, night, VFR, and IFR flights. One of the major selling points for the SR20 is that it has a fully digital avionics suite (or all glass cockpit) with the following features:

Features Include:

  • Avidyne Flight Max Entegra Primary Flight Display (PFD) & Multi-Function Display (MFD) dual Garmin 430 GPS for navigation, conventional radio navigation, and radio communications.
  • Max cruise speed 150 knots
  • Fuel efficient aircraft burning 12-14 gallons per hour
  • S-TEC 55X Auto Pilot

The SR20 is equipped with the Ballistic Recovery Systems (BRS) Cirrus Aircraft Parachute System, a large parachute which can be deployed in an emergency to lower the entire aircraft to the ground safely.

Cessna 172 Skyhawk

The Cessna 172, Skyhawk, is an all-metal, single-engine, high-wing fixed-wing aircraft with a four-person seating capacity. The Cessna 172 is FAA certified for day, night, VFR, and IFR flight.

L3 Airline Academy has 12 Cessna 172s in its fleet.

Piper Seminole

The Piper PA-44, Seminole, is a twin engine aircraft manufactured by Piper Aircraft, Inc. The Seminole was developed using many of the same design characteristics of its single engine partner the PA-28. The Seminole is used as a primary multi-engine trainer.

L3 Airline Academy has 12 Piper Seminoles in its fleet.

  • Cruise speed 140 knots
  • Fuel efficient aircraft burning 22 gallons per hour

Piper Arrow

The Piper PA-28R, Arrow, is a family of light aircraft designed for flight training, air taxi, and personal use and built by Piper Aircraft, Inc. All members of the PA-28 family are all-metal, unpressurized, single-engine, piston-powered airplanes with low-mounted wings and tricycle landing gear. They all have a single door on the co-pilot side.

L3 Airline Academy has 7 Piper Arrows in its training fleet.

The Beechcraft King Air C90 is part of a line of twin-turboprop aircraft produced by the Beech Aircraft Corporation (now Beechcraft Division of Hawker Beechcraft).
