Designed to provide students a hands-on, real life glimpse into professional pilot training, the Aerosim Flight Camp curriculum includes aviation-related lessons and activities that take place in the Academy’s state-of-the-art flight simulators and live aircraft.
Camp cadets also:
- Tour an air traffic control tower
- Learn pre/post flight procedures
- Explore flight navigation
- Review the training requirements for private and commercial pilots
- Fly in an actual aircraft!
“With an anticipated global shortfall of 1 million new commercial airline pilots and maintenance technicians in the next 20 years, Aerosim Flight Camp provides us an important opportunity to introduce future aviators to the industry and pilot profession,” explains Aerosim Vice President and Aerosim Flight Academy Executive Director Hank Coates. “This program not only serves as a gateway for aspiring pilots, but also allows the Academy to further address the tremendous and urgent need for highly skilled pilots and aviation professionals.”
Aerosim Flight Camp is $500 per week and is open to domestic and international students in grades 9-12. The fee includes a plane ride, lunch daily, t-shirt, pilot logbook and keepsake photo. On-campus housing is not offered.
Over the past 25 years, Aerosim Flight Academy has trained more than 7,000 cadets from around the world with one mission in mind: to produce safe, professional and employable airline pilots.
“Today, there are cadets and instructors from ten different countries working, training, eating and living together on our Sanford, Florida campus,” Coates added. “They are all brought together by a similar goal: to become safe, professional aviators. We are proud to offer future pilots the training and tools required to achieve their dreams of flight.”
