AS2I Takes Off with Hands-On Learning Experience at Aerosim Flight Academy
As an avid partner in student engagement, Aerosim Flight Academy proudly hosts the 2nd annual field experience for select Altamonte Springs Science Incubator (AS2I) summer interns. The field experience at Aerosim Flight Academy is designed to increase the number of students pursuing STEM careers including vast opportunities in aviation.
AS2I is an innovative program that promotes career readiness in the high-tech, high demand fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Learning modules at Aerosim Flight Academy included a tour of the operations and dispatch center, simulator flight training, ground preparation on the flight line with a Cirrus SR-20 aircraft and exclusive access to the Orlando Sanford International Airport Air Traffic Control Tower.
Throughout the field experience, students participated in hands-on experimentation and data collection, as well as, interaction with professionals to discuss career opportunities.
Thank you for the tour and presentation at Aerosim Flight Academy. I enjoyed your presentation, touring the campus and the flight simulator experience. The best part of the day was going to Air Traffic Control into the tower to see how they coordinate all of the flights. I really enjoyed the visit.
